• Commitment data (titles, durations, stakes, check-ins)
• Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)
• Usage analytics to improve our service

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the HoldFast service
• Process your commitments and track your progress
• Handle payment processing and refunds
• Send you important service updates and notifications
• Improve our service and develop new features
• Display leaderboards and aggregate statistics (anonymized)

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties except in the following circumstances:

• With your explicit consent
• To payment processors (Stripe) for transaction processing
• To comply with legal obligations or protect our rights
• Anonymized data for leaderboards and public statistics

We maintain separate identifiers for your account:

• Username: Your internal account identifier, kept private and never shown to other users
• Display Name: Your chosen public name that appears on leaderboards and public areas

Only your display name and aggregate statistics (points, success rates, streaks) are shown on public leaderboards. You must set a display name to appear on leaderboards - users without display names remain completely private. You can edit your display name anytime from your profile page. Individual commitment details always remain private.

You have complete control over your public visibility:

• Private by default: Without a display name, you are completely private and invisible on leaderboards
• Opt-in visibility: You choose to appear publicly by setting a display name during onboarding or in your profile
• Easy editing: Change or remove your display name anytime from your profile page
• Username protection: Your internal username is never shared with other users

When you set a display name, you explicitly acknowledge that it will be publicly visible on leaderboards and other community features.

You have the right to:

• Access and update your personal information, including your display name
• Request information about your stored data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Control your public visibility by setting or removing your display name
• Remain private on leaderboards by not setting a display name
