Refund Policy

1. Money Stakes Overview
When you stake money on a commitment in HoldFast, you're making a financial commitment to achieve your goal. The money stake system is designed to provide real accountability and motivation for your commitments.
2. Successful Completion Refunds
If you successfully complete your commitment (≥80% check-in rate), you will receive:
- Refund of your money stake minus payment processing fees
- Bonus points based on your stake amount and commitment duration
- Automatic processing within 24 hours of commitment completion
- Refund to your original payment method
💡 Processing Fees
Payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) are deducted from successful refunds. For example: stake $10.00 → processing fee $0.59 → refund $9.41 upon success.
3. Failed Completion Policy
If you fail to complete your commitment (<80% check-in rate):
- Your money stake is forfeited (no refund)
- This is the intended consequence of the accountability system
- No exceptions are made for partial completion below 80%
- The forfeiture is final and cannot be reversed
4. Voluntary Forfeit Policy
If you choose to forfeit your commitment before completion, your money stake is immediately forfeited with no refund. This action is irreversible and requires explicit confirmation in the app.
5. Technical Issues and Disputes
We will investigate and potentially provide refunds in the following cases:
- Technical failures that prevented legitimate check-ins
- Unauthorized charges or payment processing errors
- Service outages that affected your ability to complete commitments
- Account security breaches that compromised your commitments
Disputes must be reported within 7 days of the issue occurring.
6. Refund Processing Timeline
Refund processing times:
- Successful completion: Automatic within 24 hours
- Approved disputes: 3-5 business days
- Credit card refunds: 5-10 business days to appear on statement
- Bank transfer refunds: 3-7 business days
7. Account Management
Currently, HoldFast does not offer self-service account deletion functionality. If you wish to discontinue using the service, simply stop creating new commitments. Any active money-staked commitments will continue according to their terms, and refunds will be processed based on completion rates. 8. Payment Method Changes
Refunds are always processed to the original payment method used for the stake. We cannot process refunds to different payment methods or accounts for security reasons.
9. Limitation of Liability
HoldFast's liability for refunds is limited to the amount of the original stake. We are not responsible for any consequential damages, lost opportunities, or other indirect costs related to failed commitments.
10. Contact for Refund Issues
For refund-related questions or to dispute a charge, please contact us through our support channels within the application. Include your commitment ID and detailed description of the issue for faster resolution.
11. Policy Changes
Changes to this refund policy will not affect existing commitments. New terms will apply only to commitments created after the policy update date.
